The most awaited night of the year! The Academy awards are happening right this second and our favorite celebrities are dressed in their best attire for the evening. As we wait for the biggest winners to be announced at the end of the show, we can look at the most beautiful dresses we got to see at the red carpet event!

Here is our list of best dressed from the Academy Awards red carpet:
1) Hailee Steinfeld
The Romeo and Juliet star looked more like a Disney princess than a Juliet. She wore a white dress with a little floral pattern on it. The sleeveless dress with ban style neckline had a long tail! Her strong smokey eye make up gave her the edge she needed with a tight bun!
2) Chrissy Tiegen
Accompanying her beautiful husband at the red carpet, the star looked good in a white gown with a long slit at her leg. The clutch she had in her hand was silver matching the belt on her waist. She wore a Zuhair Murad dress. We got to see her being adorable with the 8 year old star of Lion.
3) Emma Stone
We will see in a while if she wins big for her movie, La La Land, but she definitely won big in our eyes on the red carpet. The Givenchy Haute Couture she wore was a golden colored gown, a slim fit. The hair up do she went for was a 80s hairstyle with dark red lipstick. She wore Tiffany and Co. jewelry.
4) Karlie Kloss
The Victoria Secrets Angel was definitely our top choice for the event. People even went on to say if she were an angel or a real person to begin with! She had on a very pretty white dress by Stella McCartney. A silver choker on her neck was designed by Nirav Modi jewelers. She also had a clutch by Roger Vivier in her hand.
5) Taraji P Henson
The star was one of the first to arrive and all the heads turned to look at her. A silver delicate necklace around her neck and her short hair set in the most perfect of ways. She wore a black dress, breaking the white and gold streak by others. Her dress was a custom made gown by Alberta Ferretti which had a long slit to show off her toned leg. Our sources tell us, she also chose Nirav Modi for her jewels.
6) Michelle Williams
She had a combination of black and light cream colored dress which went classically with her hair color. It was simple yet beautiful! Her dress was designed by Louis Vuitton.
7) Laura Dern
She wore a black dress designed by Rodarte. Her slim figured looked good in the gown and she was a sight for sore eyes. She chose light make up for the event and Bulgari Jewelry.
To summarize the whole red carpet in one sentence, we got to see white and gold with a touch of black every now and then. What happened to other colored dresses we might never find out. Did your favorite made it to the list of best dressed?
